Bring back good old days with Hamby

I’m a 34-year resident of La Plata County. I miss the simpler, quieter environment of this once-small, Southwestern rural community. But as the saying goes, change is inevitable.

In that same spirit, I believe a change for the better includes electing a new sheriff named Charles Hamby.

From late 2011 until June 2016, I worked for the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office. My job, along with the jobs of three other well-qualified local medical professionals, was terminated by Sheriff Smith when he decided to streamline the jail’s medical department. It was outsourced to Southern Health Partners, based out of Tennessee. In my current employment, I have a working relationship with Cpt. Charles Hamby. He is a consummate professional. He is a military veteran, a seasoned career law enforcement officer and overall a good and honorable man. When he gives you his word, you can count on it.

I did not have the same experience with our current sheriff.

My vote this November is for Charles Hamby. I hope you join me and elect him as our next sheriff. He has already earned my confidence; allow him to earn yours.
