Broadway.org is 1-stop shopping for theater fans

Just in time for the Tony Awards, the Broadway League is introducing a new website touted as “an official one-stop destination” for theater tickets and information in New York – and across North America.

Broadway.org, which launched Thursday, combines two previously existing sites: ilovenytheater.com, targeted to productions on Broadway, and touringbroadway.com, through which the League offered access to shows in nearly 200 markets in the U.S. and Canada.

Users can locate theaters throughout North America, and link to their official sites for more information. They also can search for upcoming stops for touring productions and check whether they are running in New York.

In addition, Broadway.org will provide updated show and theater information in six languages, a hotel and dining guide to Manhattan’s theater district and access to tickets at all price points to current and upcoming shows. Holiday schedules, weather advisories and updates on special league programs will be available, as well.

The site features a mobile app for shows on Broadway; an enhanced app, with touring data, is in the works.
