I encourage city voters to support Dean Brookie and Chris Bettin in the current election for Durango City Council.
I live outside the city limits, but my family’s quality of life is greatly impacted by city policies, facilities and programs. I have known both Dean and Chris for a while and am most impressed by their open mindedness and ability to actively listen.
These qualities lead to thoughtful reflection and results-driven collaboration on various community issues. Additionally, Dean Brookie and Chris Bettin each have experience with both land use policy and working with the needs of vulnerable populations — this background provides key insight when tackling affordable housing in our community.
Their differences in leadership styles and life experiences will help the council continue to have a set of members with diverse strengths.
Please vote, and mail or drop off your ballot by April 4 when the election closes.
