Sweetie Marbury passed the mayor’s gavel to Dean Brookie on Tuesday night.
Housing and visioning plans for north Main Avenue topped Brookie’s list of priorities in his short address.
“We can make these things better; 30 years from now, I hope we aren’t looking at this same landscape,” said Brookie, an architect.
Plans for the wastewater-treatment plant and a potential new airport terminal also will be priorities for the council, he said.
The title of mayor is honorary, and it rotates among councilors. The mayor maintains the same voting power as the other four councilors.
