Brookie thoughtful long-term resident

In our current city council election, we have a list of good candidates to choose from. I am pleased to endorse Dean Brookie as a candidate that I hope we will return to the council for another term.

Dean is a thoughtful long-term community resident that has personally wrestled with many of the issues that we have in front of us. His planning and architectural experience has given him a viewpoint that I believe will be helpful with the significant long-term decisions that are in front of us.

These key issues are finding effective ways to manage the relentless explosion of the transient population, innovative ways to integrate additional housing for our workforce, planning for the Durango that will exist in 20 years and the infrastructure that will need to exist including the best locations for the police and fire stations, reconnecting effective communications between the downtown merchants and city government and finding new efficiencies to reduce our spending.

I have found that Dean is very willing to listen to the ideas that are brought to him and open to new ideas. He is not afraid to make a stand once he has good information and I believe that he is worth our vote.
