Bureau of Reclamation commissioner to visit Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project

Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Brenda Burman will conduct an in-person inspection of the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project’s Cutter Lateral Water Treatment Plant at 10:15 a.m. Monday at Cutter Lateral Water Treatment Plant, 323 County Road 7575, Bloomfield.

The Cutter Lateral is one of two main laterals of the project in northwestern New Mexico. Construction of the water treatment plant has recently been completed and start-up operations are commencing.

The inspection comes at the start of an approximately six-month “pre-commissioning” phase on the Cutter Lateral where Reclamation, Reclamation’s contractors, the Navajo Nation and the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority will monitor and test the water treatment and conveyance facilities.
