Government contracting focus of July 11 forum

Businesspeople interested in making contacts with a variety of government agencies are invited to the Government to Business Outreach from 1 to 5 p.m. July 11 at Durango Public Library.

Sponsored by the Small Business Development Center at Fort Lewis College, the event will provide an opportunity to meet with procurement officials from federal, state and local government entities. Discussions will include procurement rules, socioeconomic preferences, procurement forecasts and marketing techniques.

Among the government agencies scheduled to attend are the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, Colorado Department of Transportation, La Plata County and the cities of Durango, Bayfield and Ignacio.

Networking event Tuesday at Carver’s

Tuesday Talk will be held at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday at Carver Brewing Co., 1022 Main Ave. This casual networking event is sponsored by the Durango Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Carver’s.
