New provider joins Pediatric Partners

Pediatric Partners of the Southwest announces the addition of Laurie Bush, a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner, to the practice.

Bush, a longtime Durango resident, comes to the practice with 30 years of nursing experience. She earned her undergraduate degree from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix and her master’s degree from the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Colorado. Bush believes in providing family-centered care as well as attending to the physical, developmental and emotional well-being of children of all ages.

Campground kicking off annual fundraiser

The Durango KOA Holiday Campground will offer camping on May 9 for $10 as part of Kampgrounds of America’s annual KOA Care Camps Big Weekend to benefit KOA Care Camps for children with cancer.

Campers who stay as paying guests on May 8 will receive a night of camping on May 9 for $10. The entire $10 fee will benefit KOA Care Camps for children battling cancer. Donations raised during the May 8-9 weekend will go to benefit KOA Care Camps, a network of 95 specialized, medically equipped summer camps throughout North America that offer children fighting cancer a summer-camp experience at no charge to their families.

Library to host business expo

These programs will take place as part of the third annual “Gear Up for Summer” Small Business Expo at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.:

“Successfully Sailing the Crowdfunding Sea” will take place from 8:30 to 10 a.m. May 5.

“Effective Marketing Tools” will take place from 8:30 to 11 a.m. May 6. This session will feature a panel discussion with six local marketing experts.

“Visual Brand Identity” will take place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. May 7.

“Brand Panel Discussion” will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 7. The discussion will feature three local design experts.

Massage on Main opens in Main Mall

Massage on Main – a place of relaxation, rejuvenation and tranquility – is now located at 835 Main Ave. in the Main Mall next to the RGP sandwich shop.

The business provides a safe space to unwind. With each massage patrons will have an opportunity to be placed in a drawing for a free massage which will be given away once a month. Prices for a first time client range from $25 for a 30 minute massage to $65 for a 90 minute massage.

Railroad names marketing manager

The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad has named Christian Robbins as marketing manager.

Robbins is charged with expanding current Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad marketing efforts and developing new marketing strategies aimed at growing the customer base. He brings a wealth of experience managing product and pricing plus successful marketing programs in small and large companies as well as nonprofits. His expertise in digital marketing, customer segmentation, marketing contextual content, market strategy and customer data analysis is instrumental in transforming outreach to a new ridership and demographic.

Robbins grew up in Delta, before graduating from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and a master’s in divinity from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver.
