Online legal resources examined in clinic

A free online legal resources clinic will be offered to the public from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Durango Adult Education Computer Lab in the Commons Building, 701 Camino del Rio, No. 301.

For individuals who cannot afford an attorney, or people who wish to learn about legal issues, the clinic will help them navigate websites to access free information to assist with legal issues. These sites offer webinars, answers to frequently asked questions, articles, forms, online preparation of legal forms and sites in languages other than English.

The clinic is limited to the first 14 participants. This program is co-sponsored by the 6th Judicial Access to Justice Committee, the 6th Judicial Self-Help Center and Durango Adult Education.

Chamber to host Business After Hours

The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Rochester Hotel’s Secret Garden, 726 East Second Ave.

The Payroll Department will host the event. The cost is $7 for chamber members and guests.

San Juan Regional receives credit rating

San Juan Regional Medical Center received an A- credit rating from Fitch Ratings.

Indicators considered for this rating include its dominant market position, good relationship with the county, good expense management and strong liquidity.

Upcoming hospital plans include major renovations to its second and fourth floors, specifically its nephrology and medical units, respectively.

Fitch Ratings is a global credit rating agency.

Durango Urgent Care announces new hire

In support of its expansion into drug and alcohol-testing services, Durango Urgent Care welcomes business development specialist Cheryl Ryser to its staff.

Ryser brings 17 years experience in drug and alcohol testing and has worked nationally for ADTS LLC as vice president of sales and marketing, and for Draeger Safety as national sales manager and product trainer.

Durango Urgent Care, 2577 Main Ave., is a walk-in urgent-care clinic that treats minor injuries and illnesses, and provides drug- and alcohol-testing services. It is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Homewood Suites opens Durango inn

Homewood Suites by Hilton, an all-suite, extended-stay hotel, has opened a three-story, 78-suite inn in Durango at 15 Girard St. in Bodo Industrial Park

The inn, which created 28 permanent jobs, is owned by F2DL LLC and will be managed by HHC Hotels. It offers studio and one-bedroom suites. Additional amenities include a complimentary hot breakfast, an indoor pool, an outdoor sports court, a fitness center, a conference room and complimentary Internet.

General Manager Kurt Berridge has been in the hotel industry for 24 years and will be supported by Director of Sales Stefanie Goodloe.
