Paylor

LPEA hires new customer-service rep

Amy Paylor has joined the customer-service representative team at La Plata Electric Association, filling a position left by retiring John Mackley.

Paylor has a bachelor’s degree in history and English from Fort Lewis College. After starting her family, she returned to FLC and earned her teaching degree. Paylor worked for Waldenbooks for 26 years, rising to the position of store manager. Before joining LPEA, Paylor worked for Southwest Colorado Federal Credit Union.

Chamber to host Business After Hours

Durango Chamber of Commerce will host Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. May 16 at The Durango Herald, 1275 Main Ave.

The cost is $7 for chamber members and guests.

Downtown cleanup will be held May 24

The iClean My Durango event will take place from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. May 24.

The annual downtown cleanup will have coffee, doughnuts, gloves and T-shirts while supplies last.

Local businesses and organizations are asked to provide volunteers to help clean downtown Durango. Volunteers can check in at the chamber tent in the Strater Hotel parking lot, located next to Magpies, at 8:45 a.m. for assignments.

X-Ray Associates receive accreditation

X-Ray Associates at Farmington has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in computed tomography as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology.

CT scanning – sometimes called CAT scanning – is a noninvasive exam that provides anatomic information about the body.

Marion Wengler returns to General Hair Store

Marion Wengler has returned to the General Hair Store in the Centennial Center.

Wengler is working Tuesdays and Thursdays cutting, perming and coloring hair.
