The Mail Room hires new manager

The Mail Room’s Copy Center, 10 Town Plaza, announces the addition of new manager Sydney Brega.

The Mail Room is a full-service shipping store offering UPS, Fed-Ex, crates freight and numerous other services. The business is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Goff Engineering announces promotion

Goff Engineering and Surveying Inc. announces the promotion of Steve Miranda as assistant survey department manager.

Miranda will be involved on a day-to-day basis with coordination, scheduling and preparation of Goff’s survey crews as well as general project management. He will continue to provide quality drafting and GPS surveying services to clients.

Mumbling Marmot announces promotion

Barbara Cannon, a tutor with Mumbling Marmot Tutoring since 2006, has been promoted to assistant director, overseeing client care in Mancos and Bayfield.

Cannon has a degree from the University of New Mexico, and specializes in reading, writing, math, cognitive skills and Latin. Her experience includes teaching at the Mancos Independent School (Waldorf), Albuquerque High School and Durango Home School Co-op.

Mumbling Marmot provides private tutoring services in reading, writing, and math from kindergarten to college; test preparation; learning differences; languages; economics; study skills; gifted and talented enrichment; and cognitive training. Patricia Kelly receives certification

Patricia Kelly, owner and operator of Lashes and More, 2929 Main Ave., A-6, has received the Advanced Eyelash Stylist certification from Xtreme Lashes.

Kelly recently attended an Xtreme Lashes Advanced Eyelash Extensions class in Las Vegas, Nev. Kelly provides eyelash extensions by Xtreme Lashes and male and female body waxing.

Women’s business conference Friday

Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center will host the fourth annual Southwest Colorado Women’s Small Business Conference on Friday at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.

The theme will be “Women Redefining Business” and will include educational seminars, one-on-one consulting, networking opportunities and keynote speakers including Christina Haxton founder and president of Sustainable Leadership Inc.
