LPEA updates electronic billing
The electronic billing through La Plata Electric Association has a new look and new name. Now called SmartHub, the recently launched program offers LPEA’s members additional services and ease of operation.
In addition to facilitating bill payment, the new SmartHub home page at www.lpea.smarthub.coop features a variety of options for additional information, including billing history and usage. Under “My Usage,” customers can view a graph that includes historical temperature data as well as analysis of use. The SmartHub page can be accessed on mobile phones or tablets, and the homepage offers links to downloads for Apple and Android users. Additionally, users can select to receive network feeds from LPEA such as Twitter.

Leadership La Plata announces new class
Leadership La Plata, an all-volunteer organization designed to educate and train community leaders throughout the county, has announced its new class for 2013-14.

Arts Center hosts membership drive
Durango Arts Center will host a corporate membership drive starting Thursday.
The center offers businesses an opportunity to increase marketing capacity while supporting the arts by becoming a business member. By joining as a business member, businesses will increase exposure through recognition in the center’s print and digital media, which reaches an audience of more than 1,000, as well as fulfilling organizational giving and corporate social responsibility.

Manna announces executive director
Kathy Tonnessen has been hired as executive director of Manna Soup Kitchen.
She served on Manna’s board of directors for the past two years, and managed the kitchen for Sunday brunches for the past three years. Tonnessen comes to Manna with more than 22 years of management positions in for-profit and nonprofit organizations, most recently working with Hood Mortuary as an after-care coordinator. Tonnessen earned a degree in business administration finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Bank of the San Juans announces that Eric Jones has joined the bank as a vice president and loan officer.
