Building Specialties builds a new identity, location
Building Specialties announced its move to the Durango Tech Center, and the business also has changed its name to Lewis Mercantile. The sales showroom, formerly located in the Centennial Shopping Center, moved to its new location at 135 Burnett Drive, Suite 105, and opened for business Dec. 16.

Chamber of Commerce will host Durango Rocks
The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host the Durango Rocks Awards Event on Jan. 22 at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College.
A reception will take place at 5:30 p.m., followed by the ceremony at 6:30 p.m. The cost for tickets before Dec. 31 is $25 and $30, beginning Jan. 1.

Mumbling Marmot Tutoring adds tutor with local ties
Garrett Alexander joined Mumbling Marmot Tutoring, specializing in algebra, calculus and physics.
Alexander has been a Durango DEVO cycling coach since 2010, and he uses an active, hands-on approach to bring out the best in his students. He currently is studying engineering at Fort Lewis College.
Mumbling Marmot provides private tutoring services in several different studies.
Mumbling Marmot also offers a volunteer tutoring program in which top students from Animas High School, Bayfield High School and Durango High School serve as Homework Heroes.
Mumbling Marmot is owned by Yvonna Graham, who started the service in 2005.
