Health education center hires coordinator

The Southwestern Colorado Area Health Education Center announces Karen Rider as the new student services and program coordinator.

Rider will oversee the Rural Clinical Rotations Program and will coordinate community-education projects for the general public. The program is a short-term mentoring course that places students pursuing advanced and doctoral degrees in professional practices in rural communities.

Rider is a 1985 graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in business management. She is the founding member of the musical group RHYTHYM f/x and is a certified equine and canine sports massage therapist.

KOA Campground opens for the season

The Durango KOA Campground, 30090 U.S. Highway 160 East, is now open.

Tierney Skahill with RE/MAX Pinnacle has earned the nationally recognized Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource certification.

Agents who complete the certification learn how to assist sellers when they owe more than their home is worth.

Hertz Rental Car announces its new location at 25825 U.S. Highway 160.

Christopher OÂ’Rourke manages the office. He has a background in sales and marketing.
