Chamber to host business after hours
The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Vectra Bank, 1201 Escalante Drive.
The cost is $7 for chamber members and guests.
Durango native joins electric cooperative
Ashley Grubb has joined the finance-and-accounting team at La Plata Electric Association, serving as the cooperative’s new billing clerk. She fills the position recently vacated by Jean Vittetow, who retired after 32 years with the cooperative.
Grubb comes to LPEA from the medical field where she gained experience in customer relations and billing.
Raised in Durango, she attended Colorado State University at Fort Collins for two years before being wooed by Fort Lewis College’s Athletic Department to return to her hometown.
As a result, Grubb completed her degree in psychology at FLC while participating competitively on the school’s mountain-biking team.
LPEA, established in 1939, provides electricity to more than 30,000 members.
Advertising Innovations to host reopening party
Advertising Innovations, a provider of custom embroidery, monogramming and promotional products, will host its grand reopening and customer appreciation celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at 3063 Main Ave.
There will be a live remote from 99X radio station with music from DJ Cody Kopp and catering by Texas Ty’s Barbecue. Participants can bring an item with a logo for an exchange.
Free injury screenings to be offered July 10
