Chamber to offer marketing series
The Durango Chamber of Commerce and Fort Lewis College professor and marketing guru Simon Walls will present a series of six marketing sessions designed specifically for local business.
The series will take place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 1, 8, 15, 29, Nov. 12 and 19 at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave. The cost for the series is $150 for chamber members and $200 for nonmembers. Individual classes are $30 for chamber members and $40 for nonmembers. Reservations are required.

Land Services’ worker completes course
Brian Kimmel of Southwest Land Services Inc. has successfully completed the Collaborative Resources Associates (Boulder) course in Facilitation and Mediation of Public and Environmental Conflicts.

Chamber will stage member bootcamp
The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host Member Benefit BootCamp from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 3 in the La Plata Electric Association board room, 45 Stewart St.
Participants should use the north entrance. Participants will learn how to use their benefits to make the most of their membership investment. This event is free to all members, but reservations are required. Light refreshments will be provided.

Chamber to host Lunch and Learn
The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host Lunch and Learn at noon Sept. 25 at First National Bank of Durango, 259 W. Ninth St.
The cost is $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers. Participants will learn how to “Join the Million Dollar Club for 99 cents or less” from Jeannie Bennett, La Plata Electric Association public relations coordinator, and Emily Meisner, president of LPEA Round Up Foundation. Reservations are required. The LPEA Round Up Foundation will be discussed. This is the nonprofit arm of LPEA overseen by an all-volunteer board. Round Up Foundation funds are generated by LPEA consumers rounding up their electric bill to the next higher dollar amount.
