Health center announces hire

The Southwestern Colorado Area Health Education Center announces Jamie Robb as the new program manager.

Robb will work with five primary-care providers in the region on a practice-transformation project known as the Patient Centered Medical Home initiative. Robb will assist providers with the implementation of the initiative, a “best practice” model of health-care delivery to reduce costs by introducing quality-improvement measures and enhancing information technology.

A native of Durango, Robb graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in business administration in 2007. After graduation, Robb worked for several years in the natural-foods industry.

For the past two years, Robb has worked at Animas Surgical Hospital and completed pre-medical science coursework at Fort Lewis College with the long term goal of applying to medical school.

The education center is a regional nonprofit organization in Southwest Colorado that broadly focuses on improving rural health in eight counties.
