Worksite wellness discussion to be held
The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host Lunch & Learn at noon July 22 at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
Nicola St. Mary will present “Making Work Your Happy Place: A Guide to Worksite Wellness Programming.” Participants will learn about why work-site wellness has become a requisite; how to access employees’ interests and needs; the dollars and sense of having a work-site wellness program; how to create a program that is engaging and sustainable; and funding that is available to start a program.
The cost is $10 for chamber members and $20 for nonmembers. Reservations are required.

Youth arts program hires new teacher
Durango native Steve Ilg has accepted a teaching position with the La Plata County Independent Youth Performing Arts and is teaching his third generation of yogis from the Dancing Spirit Community Center in Ignacio on the Southern Ute Indian Reservation each week.
Ilg’s local teaching will be limited to private sessions only in bodywork, yoga and wholistic fitness as he focuses on inspiring and developing kids between 7 to 8 years of age in Ignacio and other outlying rural areas. Ilg is a yoga teacher, author and multi-sport world championship athlete.

Purgatory Resort adds events manager
Purgatory Resort announces the appointment of Matthew Krichman to lead year-round events coordination at the resort.
Krichman has nearly a decade of experience with organizing and developing events in the Durango area. His previous career experience includes Fort Lewis College and the U.S. State Department. Krichman earned a bachelor of science in foreign service from Georgetown University. He is an avid trail runner, cyclist, skier and recreational enthusiast.
Krichman is responsible for developing, organizing and implementing events that will draw guests to the resort. Purgatory is focused on elevating its events and attracting new travelers to the resort and to the Durango area.
