Ore House announces new partnership
Beatle Abshagen is taking on his current Ore House manager and chef, Ryan Lowe, as his new partner.
Lowe has worked for the Ore House for more than 12 years, and he plans to look to the community for support while working to retain his staff, develop the culture and integrity of the venerable restaurant and continue to drive the quality of the food, beverages and service. He has bought in as a full partner, and he now owns 50 percent of the business. He will maintain his current duties as manager and chef.

Chamber to host Business After Hours
The Young Professionals of Durango will collaborate with Music in the Mountains for an event to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday that will cover the walls of the warehouse building on the corner of East Second Avenue and College Drive with paint.
The art will be refined by local graffiti artists and be on display at the Durango Chamber of Commerce’s June 19 Business After Hours. The cost for the painting event is $10 for nonmembers and free for Young Professional of Durango members.
The Chamber of Commerce then will host Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. June 19 at the warehouse behind Second Ave. Sports, 600 East Second Ave. The cost is $7 for chamber members and guests. Participants will learn what is in store for the 2014 Music in the Mountains Festival.

Sorrel Sky opens gallery in Santa Fe
Sorrel Sky Gallery will open its second location in Santa Fe on Friday.
After 12 years of business in Durango, owner Shanan Campbell Wells is expanding her fine art and jewelry gallery into the second largest art market in the United States. The new location will bring a fresh approach to western art to Santa Fe and will feature several local artists including former U.S. Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell, Phyllis Stapler, Carol Salomon and Cynthia DeBolt. Among other artists, Sorrel Sky Santa Fe will feature Billy Schenck, Star Liana York and Ray Hare.
The new gallery is located at 125 W. Palace Ave., between the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum and the New Mexico Museum of Art. The grand opening event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
