Local Habitat approved as Enterprise Zone

Habitat for Humanity of Montezuma County was approved as an Enterprise Zone Contribution Project by the Colorado Economic Development Commission on Oct. 10.

This designation allows all donor contributions of $250 or more for this project to be eligible for a 25 percent state tax credit on cash donations, and a 12.5 percent state tax credit on in-kind donations. Habitat works to build affordable houses in partnership with eligible families and volunteers. In turn, the families pay property taxes and work within the community.
