Bear Smart Durango receives donation

Local nonprofit Bear Smart Durango has received a donation from Cascade Engineering in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as part of the organization’s corporate sponsorship program.

The nonprofit will use the $250 Cub in-kind donation of a bear-resistant trash container in its Neighborhood Connection program.

Canyons of the Ancients featured in magazine

The ruins of Canyons of the Ancients National Monument in southwest Colorado will be featured in the latest issue of Colorado Life Magazine.

The March/April 2015 issue features the article “Canyons of the Ancients” by Dan Leeth, who recently visited the area. The seven-page article features Leeth’s photographs of the monument’s canyons and pueblos.

Colorado Life Magazine publishes six issues a year and focuses on nature, history, wildlife and people of Colorado. The magazine is based in Estes Park and is family-owned by Christopher and Angela Amundson.

Heroes Home Advantage to be discussed

Max Scholfield receives certification

Max Scholfield, independent investment executive at Scholfield Wealth Management, has completed an extensive program and four examinations through The Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts to become a certified divorce financial analyst.

Human resource managers to meet

The Durango Area Human Resource Managers group will host a Human Resource Roundtable from noon to 1 p.m. March 19 at Ska Brewing Co. on Girard Drive in Bodo Industrial Park.

The roundtable discussion will allow participants to share successes they have experienced in their human resource world. The group will choose four topics that will be shared prior to the meeting based on the responses.

This meeting is not for vendors who are looking to sell products and services.
