Hillcrest grill opens for season

Irons in the Fire Hillcrest Golf Course Grill announces that it is now open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven-days a week until the season ends.

Chef Micky Stalley will return this season, offering a new menu with daily specials. People who have lunch at Hillcrest Golf Course will receive $1 off a large bucket of range balls.

Adult day care extends hours

Adult Day Care at “Our Place” – a daytime-respite care that benefits adults who cannot be left home alone as well as their caregiver who is in need of a break – announces it has extended its hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.

“Our Place” is an outreach of the First United Methodist Church.

Thad Trujillo receives N.M. license

Thad Trujillo has earned his Qualifying Real Estate Broker license in the state of New Mexico.

Trujillo is a member of the National Association of Realtors, Colorado Association of Realtors and the New Mexico Association of Realtors and can represent buyers and sellers in both Colorado and New Mexico. He is a fifth-generation native of southwest Colorado and is a long-standing broker associate with The Wells Group.

Southwest Women’s announces addition

Southwest Women’s Health Associates, 575 Rivergate Lane, Suite 210, announces the addition of Courtney Lupia Blasi.

Lupia Blasi has a special interest in alternative medicine and is currently studying integrative medicine at the University of Minnesota. She grew up in Durango and studied nursing at Regis University in Denver; she went on to complete her nurse practitioner degree at the University of Colorado. For the last four years, she has been working in the division of gynecology at the Mayo Clinic located in Rochester, Minnesota.

Griffin & Associates receive Addy award

Griffin & Associates – an Albuquerque-based marketing, advertising and public relations firm with offices in Durango and Taos, New Mexico – was awarded a Silver Addy Award for responsive design of a website for its work on the tourism website for the Durango Area Tourism Office.

The website www.durango.org highlights the city’s attractions, restaurants, trip planning tips, places to stay and more. It also features parallax scrolling, an interactive events calendar and a live-chat tool to make vacation planning more convenient and interactive for potential visitors.

Griffin & Associates was presented the award at the annual New Mexico Advertising Awards, formerly called the Addys, held in Albuquerque on March 14.

LPEA announces Jerry Wills’ promotion

Jerry Wills has been named line superintendent for La Plata Electric Association, overseeing day-to-day line crew operations in LPEA’s Pagosa Springs office. Wills fills the position held by Mike Alley, who will retire in April.

Wills is currently working with Alley to ensure a smooth transition into the management position.

Durango Nursery announces new hires

Durango Nursery and Supply announces the hiring of Maggie March as new assistant manager of the nursery.

March previously worked as store manager at Natural Grocers and as a field ecologist for the Colorado Natural Heritage Program. A Colorado native, she studied environmental biology at Fort Lewis College.

The nursery also welcomes Tiffany Kuepker as production supervisor. Kuepker brings a background of gardening, plant collecting, design, installation, and maintenance of landscapes, having most recently worked for Scapegoat Landscaping in Durango, as well as owning her own businesses in the past. She studied environmental horticulture at the University of Florida and is a CSU-trained master gardener.
