Health-education center announces hire
The Southwestern Colorado Area Health Education Center in Durango announces Mary Dengler-Frey as the new special projects manager.
Dengler-Frey will coordinate the Asthma/Respiratory Toolkit Program, facilitate the regional hub for Connect for Health Colorado and provide support for health professional preceptor recruitment. Dengler-Frey also will be the primary-care liaison for the Center of Excellence in Care Coordination. Center of Excellence in Care Coordination is an 18-month planning grant that facilitates collaboration, shared learning and practice advancement of care coordinators. The grant’s objective is to provide assistance for the improvement of access to quality, coordinated and cost-effective health care and social services.
Dengler-Frey comes to the center from Southwest Colorado Community College in Durango, where she served as an instructor, academic adviser, faculty and staff trainer and mentor as well as interim special assistant to the dean. For more information, visit http://swcahec.org.

Chamber to host Business After Hours
The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host December Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at First National Bank of Durango, 259 W. Ninth St.
The cost is $7 for chamber members and guests. The event will feature a holiday menu from the Strater Catering and Events and beverages from Durango Liquor & Wine Co.
