Chamber donates to FLC golf team

The Durango Chamber of Commerce announces that more than $1,000 has been raised for the Fort Lewis College women’s golf team during its recent Girls Gone Golfing event.

The golf event, held June 5 at Hillcrest Golf Club, raised money with the help of two FLC team members, Jessica Thulson and Myranda Crawford, both Durango High School alumnae.

Thulson and Crawford were placed at Hillcrest par-3 holes 9 and 12. As Thulson and Crawford played those holes, Girls Gone Golfing participants had the opportunity to donate to either golfer and to play the hole with them during the scramble format.

Along with other games played throughout the day, the fundraiser tallied more than $1,000 presented to the FLC women’s golf program June 16 at Hillcrest.

The chamber hosts Girls Gone Golfing the first Friday of June each year.
