Business seminar to be held

The Durango Public Library program room will host members of the business community who are looking to start their own business. The seminar will take place starting at 8 a.m. Jan. 8.

The Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center and the First Southwest Bank are sponsoring a half-day workshop about starting your business Jan. 8 at the Durango Public Library program room, according to an SBDC news release.

The workshop will be from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The course is designed to help participants navigate through the steps needed to start a successful business, the news release said.

Presenters include a small business specialist, a marketing expert, a small business banker, an attorney, and an accountant.

Topics to be covered include: business planning, legal structure, taxes, marketing and market research and financing options.

The fee to attend the workshop is $25 or $20 for Durango Chamber of Commerce members.
