The Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center has joined forces with the First Southwest Bank to sponsor a workshop called “Starting Your Business.” The event will take place from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. July 10 at the Durango Public Library. The cost is $25 or $20 for members of the Durango Chamber of Commerce.

The seminar will address the challenges and uncertainties of starting a new business, according to a news release issued by the Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center. The course is intended to help participants navigate through the steps needed to start a successful business.

Presenters from various business-related background, ranging from small business specialist, marketing experts, to bankers and accountants, will be in attendance.

On the list of topics to be discussed are business planning, legal structure, taxes, marketing, market research and financing options, according to the release.
