Busy weekend wraps up Kart racing at Aztec Speedway

AZTEC - Another busy weekend of racing action wrapped up Friday night at Aztec Speedway, with nearly two dozen Kart drivers in action.

The card was led off by with newbie class competition, as Griffyn Bandy took down the checkered flag, beating Alei Dineltsoi, Garrin Bandy and Caulin Horse.

The youth class division main event was won by Brendan McLaughlin, who slipped past both Josh Allen and Ryder Brooks.

In the Stock class, Tyrone Yazzie got a trip to victory lane, followed by Mike Tenski, Freddie Brooks, Rivver Higgins, Jordan Hockenhull, Jacalyn English and Troy King.

Yazzie wasn’t done for the night though, as he came back to also win the Super Stock race followed by Jared Bandy, Darrin Blakley, Nathan Lemons and Jourdyn Hockenhull.

The Freedom Nationals will take place July 15 as the next scheduled event at Kart Kanyon Speedway.

Meantime, the Jim Henry Memorial at Fairgrounds Speedway in Cortez, will take place July 7 to 8. Aztec Speedway’s next scheduled event will take place later in the month with POWRi and IMCA classes headlining the cards on July 28 and 29.
