When I go to Walmart to get oil and air filters for my car, and I forget what part number I need, there is a box on the wall where I can plug in my car model and year, and the box will tell me which filters I need.
If I go to the doctor’s office and they hand me a black box to explain my problems, will the doctors know what my health problems are?
Believe it or not, I have heard of two cases where a doctor’s office employee has handed a device to the patient to push buttons on it to answer questions about a health problem. When the printout came out of the device, the diagnosis was not at all the same as the patient’s problems indicated.
One patient was diagnosed with a substance-abuse problem. This patient has never abused any substance of any kind. What made it worse was the health establishment sent this diagnosis to the patient’s insurance company. Now the insurance company has this patient classified as a substance abuser. The diagnosis was sent to the insurance company without the patient’s knowledge.
My opinion is that it’s all about money. You would think the health establishment would have enough respect for the patient that they wouldn’t want to trash a reputation by giving out lies about health problems. This health establishment needs to be exposed so this kind of deceit does not continue.
Since there have been two of these cases in this area, I’m sure there are more.
