Andrew Zeiler’s letter (Feb. 26) is right on! As he says, “… inclusion of a carbon price and a citizen’s dividend, in budget reconciliation packages, has not heightened inflation and can help ease it.”
In addition to the economic advantages he cites, there are the health effects of reduced pollution, and the slowing of CO₂ emissions that will help to regulate our climate. Its effects are multiplied if we include a border tax adjustment so that countries that don’t have a carbon price won’t have an advantage over U.S. industries.
This is another way to make our planet livable for our children and grandchildren!
