Paramedics responded to a two-car crash near the intersection of County Road 310 and U.S. Highway 550 near Bondad Hill around 1 p.m. Monday.

The driver of a pickup turned in front of a van that was headed eastbound Highway 550, said Capt. Adrian Driscoll, with the Colorado State Patrol.

The truck was turning west from County Road 310 and hit the front end of the van.

A man, 81, and woman, 79, were in the van. They were both taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center for neck pain.

A Farmington man, 46, was driving a 2011 Silverado, and he was cited for careless driving causing bodily injury.

No alcohol or other illegal substance were involved, Driscoll said.

Around the same time Monday, a car crashed into the barrier at Colorado Highway 3 at the first mile post, Driscoll said.
