This is in regards to the cartoon by Mike Luckovich (Herald, July 1) concerning Fox News. Once again, the most trusted television news outlet (34 percent as compared to NBC 6 percent).
Apparently, the Herald feels that we the people should not be concerned about the massacre at Benghazi. Does the paper not feel we the people should finally find out the truth involving this terrible tragedy? Where was the support Ambassador Stevens and others requested so many times in the previous weeks and months? Why were we even in Benghazi after the British and Red Cross had left because of the danger? Where was our feckless commander in chief after his initial meeting with Secretary Paneta at the start of the attack? (Which was his last contact with the secretary of defense.) Why did he lie to us for weeks afterward? Why were the “talking points” changed so many times, completely leaving out the original statements that it was definitely a terrorist attack? Why can Congress not get the names of the survivors to talk to them? Why was Obama’s only administration contact that night with Clinton? Could that be to develop the lie about the video? Are we to think “What difference, at this time, does it make”? Why were troops and aircraft not sent?
Well, editorial board, you may be mindless liberal lemmings following your scandal-ridden, corrupt, divisive leader, but some of us, actually most of us, would like answers! The situation is a sad one when more Americans distrust our president than trust him.
Unfortunately, the Herald’s 350 word limit on letters does not allow me to delve into the other balloon the cartoon’s “clown” is carrying, the IRS scandal, but safe to say that if it were secular progressive groups being targeted, you would have a very different opinion.
