Editorial cartoons, especially from the left, are easy to ignore. However, the cartoon on Saturday showing three elephants identified as being from Texas, Arizona and Florida toppling the Statue of Liberty was just plain wrong.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis flew 50 illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard. Compared to the number of illegals President Joe Biden has bused and flown around the country in the past 18 months, the governors of Arizona and Texas have sent less than 1% to Democrat sanctuary cities.
Perhaps the cartoonist didn’t read the editorial in The Durango Herald calling for tempered responses to prevent further national divisions.
