Carver Brewing Co.’s Executive Chef Dave Cuntz out-cooked three other chefs on “Guys Grocery Games” on the Food Network.
Round 1 was to cook a dish using only ingredients that start with the letter “p” in 30 minutes His dish: Petrale sole, filleted, wrapped in pancetta and seared, served on fried purple potatoes resting on a bed of puréed peas and garnished with diced plum tomatoes.
Round 2 called for a chicken dish, and chefs had to use Korean gochujang hot sauce and one ingredient that cost $2.99. Cuntz prepared an Asian-style chicken burrito with Napa-cabbage coleslaw, wrapped in a flour tortilla with a gochujang glaze.
In the final round, using only canned ingredients, Cuntz prepared a barbecue-chipotle sauced canned ham served on a potato hash and topped with a black bean-roasted chile ragoût with a side of spicy tobacco onions.
His episode will air two more times, at 2 p.m. Saturday and at 4 p.m. Monday on Charter Cable Channel 37 or at Carver’s.
