The details are all hush-hush, but one thing is public: Carver Brewing Co. Executive Chef Dave Cuntz will be featured on a popular Food Network show.
Cuntz’ appearance on “Guy’s Grocery Games,” also known as “Triple G,” will air at 6 p.m. Sunday. The Guy in the title is Guy Fieri, who hosts several shows on the network, including “Guy’s Big Bite” and “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.” The name of Cuntz’ episode is called, “Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner.”
The show features competitions such as requiring chefs to come up with creative solutions when essential ingredients are out of stock or making them prepare something delicious with five ingredients or less or on a budget of $10, according to the Food Network.
“It was quite the vigorous application process, including filming a 30-minute video,” Cuntz said. “Then 14 months went by, and I thought, ‘Well, I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. Then they called.”
Mum’s the word at Carver’s on how Cuntz did, so we’ll just have to tune in to get the results.
The Food Network airs on Charter Cable channel 37.
Carver’s will close at 3 p.m. Sunday so employees can enjoy a private viewing party, but the restaurant will air the reruns at 2 p.m. April 4, and 4 p.m. April 6, so everyone who’s a fan of “Chef Dave’s” cooking can see him in action. A rerun will also air at 1 a.m. Monday, but Carver’s won’t be open then, so night owls will have to watch it at home.
