Catch the Red Eye(d)

Jam-rockers Red Eyed Djinn will celebrate the release of their second CD, “Ghosts in the Trees,” on Sunday night at The Summit. The record is a top-to-bottom local product: percussionist Howie Basley created the cover art, and it was recorded at Durango’s Moon Dog Studios. The eight tracks were co-written by guitarist/singers Matt Rupnow and Shaman Houpt. Rounding out the band is the rhythm section of Art Cahill on 6-string bass and drummer Matt Knight. Red Eyed Djinn formed in 2009, and “Ghosts in the Trees” is the follow up to the band’s 2010 self-titled debut.
