The 16th Annual La Plata/Archuleta Cattlemen’s Association Chuck Wagon Cook-off will take place in conjunction with Fiesta Days at 5 p.m. July 27 at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
Six chuck wagons from around Colorado will compete to provide meals in the tradition of the late 1800s. People may wagon chefs prepare meals in cast iron cookware over an open fire. An authentic dinner will be served at 5 p.m.
Advance tickets are available for $20 at Basin Co-Op, 26103 Highway 160. Money raised at the cook-off contribute toward local scholarships.
