Cedar Diagnostics partners with third party for COVID-19 test collections

Cedar Diagnostics has partnered with COVID Drive Up Community Testing for collection of COVID-19 testing for active infection as of Monday.

COVID Drive Up Community Testing is now the exclusive nasal PCR swab collection partner for Cedar Diagnostics. Testing will take place by appointment only at Durango Public Library’s overflow parking lot.

Testing of collections will still take place in Cedar Diagnostic’s lab and results will be available in 36 to 48 hours.

The partnership was developed because of Cedar Diagnostic staff members being unable to keep up with demand for testing. Staff members were able to perform only about 25 test collections per day, whereas COVID Drive Up Community Testing can perform about 300 tests per day. Community members will receive a visit with provider for education about COVID-19 and reducing spread of the virus as part of the testing.

At this time, most insurances are accepted, but those without insurance will be referred to testing through the health department.

To schedule an appointment, visit www.cocoviddriveup.com and choose the Durango option.
