Southwest Center for Independence will provide free assistance for people who want to start or facilitate community support groups in Southwest Colorado.
The center also offers the “Visually Impaired Persons” support group to seniors 55 and older who struggle with low vision or blindness to help them be independent, active and able to cope. Groups meet at 10 a.m. the second Monday each month at Durango/La Plata Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave.
