Center of Southwest Studies to celebrate summer solstice

Marking the summer solstice, the morning sun paints a spiral on the wall of The Center for Southwest Studies. This year’s event will be held at 6 a.m. June 21.

A summer-solstice celebration will be held at 6 a.m. June 21 at the Fort Lewis College Center of Southwest Studies, 1000 Rim Drive.

Attendees will watch the sun paint a spiral on the center’s gallery walls through a window designed by Denver artist Scott Parsons.

The event is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be provided.
