The Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College will host a lecture by Jared Orsi, “Spare No Pains: Zebulon Pike’s Adventures in the Rocky Mountains,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Room 130 of Noble Hall.
Orsi’s lecture will draw from his book, “Citizen Explorer: The Life of Zebulon Pike,” and will look at Pike’s expedition to Colorado in 1806-1807.
Orsi will reconsider Pike’s actions and struggles in the Rocky Mountains to shed light on the purpose of Pike’s adventure.
