Center of Southwest Studies to host talk about mistletoe

The Center of Southwest Studies will host a lecture by Kristy Duran about the effects of dwarf mistletoe on host ecology from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Lewis College.

Dwarf mistletoe is a parasitic plant that infects conifers. Little is known about how infection may affect other aspects of host ecology.

Duran, a biology professor at Adams State University, will discuss preliminary results of research on piñons and ponderosas.
