Chamber hosts document Shred Day benefit

Marty Lukso joins others dropping off personal papers for shredding by Phoenix Recycling in November 2015 in the parking lot of First National Bank of Durango. Shred days offer residents a chance to dispose securely of such things as tax documents and medical records, and one is planned for next week.

The Durango Chamber of Commerce is hosting a secure document Shred Day to benefit La Plata Youth Services from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. (or until the truck is full) Sept. 21 at the Chamber Offices in Santa Rita Park.

Old tax documents (seven years and older), medical records, credit card statements/solicitations, cancelled checks, and more can be securely shredded by Colorado Document Security.

Documents must be out of folders with binder clips removed. Staples and paper clips may remain. A $5 donation is suggested for the regular limit of two copy paper-sized boxes. Additional boxes will be charged $5 per box.
