As a regular user of the rec center and Lake Nighthorse, I notice a lot of people who use those facilities come from outside of Durango. To my knowledge, I don’t think either of those facilities charge more for people who don’t live within the city/county. Why not? Other city- or county-run recreational facilities around the country charge nonresidents more if they want to use said facility.
It makes it so there are no benefits for being a local taxpayer.
