Children's programming returns to the Pine River Library, following a break for the holidays.
On Mondays and Wednesdays, "Jammin' Juniors" returns with songs, stories, and activities for babies and toddlers. The program runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Monday and Wednesday. This program starts again on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Storytime returns to Pine River Library with crafts, stories, and fun activities. This program starts at 10 a.m. every Thursday and is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. The first Storytime will be Thursday, Jan. 21. On Feb. 18 there will be a special Storytime held at Fire Station One located at 75 S. Clover Drive. in Bayfield. There will be a tour of the station, the firefighters will read stories, and kids will have a chance to try on kid-sized gear!
For elementary-aged children, the library will hold a weekly after-school Storytime every Tuesday at 3:30 starting on Jan. 19. Materials for the range of ages will be available for checkout and Miss Liz will read a selection aloud to the kids each week.
Gamer Club, a popular program for older kids, returned on Monday, Jan. 11. Library laptops are set up in the Community Room for kids to play Minecraft, Roblox, or other engineering games. X-boxes, PlayStations, and old-fashioned board games will be available for participants. Library staff will be on hand to answer questions. The program is open to all school-aged children, up to fifth-graders and happens every Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
For kids in grades 6-12, the library offers daily weekday activities for teens, starting at 3:30. Teens are invited to participate in the events that feature games, activities and snacks. Between 4 and 5 every Monday through Friday the library will also be hosting STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts, and Mathematics) programs. These dynamic activities will be led by local professionals who want to share their passion for their careers with local teens. A detailed calendar of all STEAM events is available at www.prlibrary.org/content/steam-event-calendar.
Also, older teens (high schoolers) are invited to participate in monthly Dungeons and Dragons meets held on the third Saturday of each month.
On holidays, or other days where the library is closed, programs will be cancelled. For a complete and updated list of children's and teen programming, visit the library's website at www.prlibrary.org.
