Support San Juan Mountains Association and local public lands conservation by participating in the Run for the Mountains Chili Chase event on Saturday. The Run for the Mountains is a challenging 10K run through Overend Mountain Park in Durango. The registration fee includes membership to San Juan Mountains Association, a conservation-themed T-shirt, and entry to the Chili Chase tasting, featuring 20-plus dishes from local businesses.
Race packet pick-up begins at 8:30 a.m. race day, the run starts at 9:30 a.m. and the Chili Chase cook-off starts at 11 a.m. Register at www.crowdrise.com/-run-for-the-mountains.
If you’re not a runner but love chili, just come for the tasting which is only $10. The event is sponsored by Backcountry Experience, where the race starts and ends. Call 385-1312 for more information.
