Chili cookoff to benefit Durango woman with cancer

A benefit cookoff will be held Saturday to benefit a Durango resident suffering from cancer.

First United Methodist Church is hosting a Chili Cookoff Benefit and Silent Auction for Kristen Dugan on Saturday.

The event, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., involves 25 teams, including those made up from local restaurants.

The silent auction will offer items from more than 40 local businesses to raise funds for Dugan’s family.

Dugan suffers from cancer.

Kristen and her family are longtime Durango residents and active community members. Her husband, Jeremy, is a firefighter and Dugan’s two boys attend Park Elementary.

The church is at 2917 Aspen Drive, off of Florida Road.
