After a hiatus while the event was held in other locations, Ignacio's Taste of Christmas craft fair was back at the gym in the former elementary school, now the ELHI, on Dec. 4.
Craft-making is another popular part of Ignacio's Taste of Christmas. Leslee Shell, the director of Ignacio Community Library, helps local children complete their projects.

Community members, including lots of children and their parents, turned out for Ignacio's Taste of an Old Fashioned Christmas on Dec. 4 at the ELHI Community Center, the former elementary school downtown. They packed the gym to enjoy holiday treats, shop from arts and crafts vendors, listen to music, and of course for the kids to talk to Santa and have their pictures taken.
Down the hall there was a gingerbread house competition and a place for kids to make Christmas decorations. There were horse-drawn wagon rides outside.
Also that night in the cafeteria at the south end of the building, ELHI anchor tenant Dancing Spirit Community Arts Center held its annual Fill Your Bowl for Art fundraiser with homemade soups in hand-thrown pottery bowls.
