Climate change events are more frequent, our responses must be too!
We see many articles lately like “Heat, fires getting worse,” “118 heat records tied or broken,” worldwide. Many of these events are results of the changing climate of our home planet.
Some people feel overwhelmed or helpless confronting the increasing frequency and intensity of these events. This can lead to inaction. This response is understandable but we’re responsible to future generations who will judge us based on our actions today.
The 2016 presidential debates had not one question about climate change or its hazards. Why? Because the media hasn’t heard enough from people expressing concern about climate change. The Herald publishes letters about climate change. It could publish an editorial addressing the threats of climate change.
Has Congressman Tipton received regular and abundant calls about your concern? People must lead assertively for leaders to follow. We can contact TV stations and other large media en masse to notify them of our alarm. Businesses responsible for economic growth in our communities have legislators’ attention and can let members of Congress know their concern. We must make our voices heard, the Earth urges us to do so!
