City Council candidate forum to be held

The Boulevard Neighborhood Association is hosting a question-and-answer forum with Durango City Council candidates from 2 to 4 p.m. March 5 at First Presbyterian Church, 1150 East Third Ave.

Refreshments will be served. A resource table will be set up at the back of the room for campaign materials provided by the candidates, which can be picked up by attendees at the end of the forum.

Council candidates will be given time to make a one-minute introductory statement, to be used however they choose. They may use the statement to summarize what sets them apart from other candidates. There will be a timekeeper. A blue card will be raised when the one-minute time limit begins. A yellow card will be raised when there are 15 seconds remaining in the time limit. A red card will be raised when the time limit has expired. Candidates should stop speaking when the red card is raised. None of the candidates will be provided questions before the forum.

Three or four BNA members will ask questions of all five candidates. The order in which candidates answer will be rotated. Follow-up questions, especially if an answer is not clear, will be permitted. Questions from the public can be submitted up to 5 p.m. March 4. Email questions to Russ Kimble, BNA Board member, at russinflorida1@gmail.com, including contact information (name, telephone number, and address or neighborhood) of the person emailing the questions.
