City councilors take oath

Keith Brant, left, Dean Brookie, and Christina Rinderle are sworn in by Durango City Clerk Amy Phillips during Tuesday’s City Council meeting in City Hall. Brookie, an architect, received most of the 3,442 votes cast in the April 2 election. The meeting was the last for Councilor Paul Broderick and Mayor Doug Lyon, who has served on the council for 10 years. “The great things that have happened in our community over the last decade have been the work of the entire community. That community spirit is why I’m bullish on Durango,” Lyon said.
